Lidérczfény

Lidérczfény (Will o' Wisp) Hungarian Dark Folk LARP (International run)
Not so long ago—just a few generations back, in our great-grandparents’ time—the world was a different place. The achievements of human civilization and the industrial revolution were already making their mark on the streets of Vienna, Budapest, and other cities of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. But just a few hours’ journey from the bustling cities, time seemed to flow differently. In the shadowy forests of the Mátra Mountains, small, secluded communities lived out their days while outlaws, fugitives, and swineherds roamed the land.
And when night fell, beyond the flickering glow of fires and lanterns, the characters of old legends and ghost stories seemed to stir to life.
It is the summer of 1873, on the night of Midsummer’s Eve. Our story takes place in a remote tavern nestled deep in the Mátra hills, where the locals and curious travelers from all walks of life gather to share drinks, tales, and news. And there is much to speak of: barely three weeks ago, the infamous outlaw Márton Vidróczki was lured into a trap and killed by the lawmen. Yet ever since his brutal end, the region seems to have fallen under a curse. Strange lights flicker in the woods at night, heavy footsteps break the stillness before dawn, and the livestock cower in fear.
