Gl. Dansk Mjød is a unique combination of the traditional Gammel Dansk bitters and mead. The addition of hops and ginger gives it an exceptionally complex, slightly spicy flavour.
This semi-dry, aromatic and sweet mead, which tastes a little like sherry, is perfect for many occasions. Enjoy it chilled as an aperitif or at room temperature as a sweet dessert wine.
Dansk Mjød’s honey wines are based on old, traditional recipes with the addition of juices and herbs. Another special feature of many meads is that the fermentation is stopped by adding alcohol. This gives the mead an unusual strength, which is tempered by its residual sweetness, resulting in a liqueur-like smoothness and balance.
